The Seeds of Change offer Personal Development and Growth for people of all ages, through the unique interaction between horse and human.

Although we run programmes and courses across the UK, The Acorn Centre provides a Centre of Excellence, which is the hub of our business.

The Acorn Centre enables The Seeds of Change to offer weekend and holiday courses alongside our more traditional short courses and 12 month programmes. The centre provides a unique learning environment away from the hustle of every day life, where clients can relax and enjoy the beauty of the countryside whilst learning about the horses and more about themselves.

In addition to learning through interaction with horses, The Seeds of Change are now able to broaden the learning experiences offered at the new centre and include other rural activities, such as photography, horticulture and bush craft experiences.

Clients who visit The Acorn Centre cannot fail to be impressed by the beautiful views and peace that surrounds it. Finished with only the best quality fixtures and fittings and the latest in environmental innovations, The Acorn Centre manages to combine a homeliness and welcome that makes even the most vulnerable feel safe.

We hope that our work at The Acorn Centre will provide a truly unique environment, that delivers all of the components to learn from nature, the countryside and the interaction with horses, whilst still enjoying the surroundings of a high quality modern facility with the latest technology at its heart.

Therapeutic Riding
If you want to increase your confidence, balance, technique or purely to escape the hum drum of a busy life visit our small private yard of responsive horses. We can coach you in this therapeutic environment, where you only have to focus on communication between yourself and the horse.

Childrens Birthday Parties

Why don’t you celebrate your Birthday in style with a Personalised Party at The Acorn Centre.

Party Option 1
30 minutes of games in the indoor school then have the chance to put your pony to bed and tuck him in, giving him a goodnight hug.
£13.50 per child.

Party Option 2
30 minutes of games in the indoor school then half hour grooming your pony and plaiting him up. making him look gorgeous!
Total time: 1 hour and 5 minutes.
£18.50 per child.

Party Option 3
45 minutes of games in the indoor school, then have the chance to take the cheeky little Shetlands out for a walk. When you get back it's time to groom them and tuck them up in bed, giving them a good night hug.
Total time: 1 hour and 15 minutes.
£22.50 per child.

You will need 6 children or more.
Rosettes are given to every child. You can also order to have your child's name on them to say whose birthday their friends attended to.
Anymore than 12 children shall be split. Birthday girl/boy will ride free in the second group.

We can offer Birthday Parties for children of any age and riding ability.

Hiring The Acorn Centre

Ideal for private functions and meetings, enjoying exclusive use of the great facilities. Full catering can also be arranged from a small but carefully chosen menu using only fresh, farm assured meats and produce sourced from our farm.

The History of The Acorn Centre

The Acorn Centre is the result of a lifelong dream and vision to turn this beautiful 17 acres of pasture land into a tranquil haven for visitors to come and enjoy all that the Countryside has to offer in a natural and holistic way. It was left to me by my late father Bernard Dillon, who farmed the ground as part of an intensive poultry unit, 1958-1988. My father was adamant that I should have the ground and one day,
“Do something good with it.” I hope The Acorn Centre will make him proud.

My vision for the Centre was also inspired by the untimely death of my sister Jane Dillon, whose short life, 1954-1969 (due to a brain tumor and bone cancer) was enriched at least by her great passion for
THE HORSE.

I hope that you will find The Acorn Centre a peaceful and spiritual place to visit.
It has been built with love and a desire to put at least something good back into our young people’s lives.
