The Seeds Of Change: Therapy in an Equine Environment
The Seeds Of Change is a unique learning and therapy experience.
Whilst at the moment based at East Lodge, Katherine White, an Equestrian Assisted Therapy (EAT) certified practitioner and horse specialist, offers a unique and personalised program to individuals and small groups who want to grow and develop themselves. For many years horses have been used in very positive ways to offer exercise, communication and improve motor skills. More recently Equine Assisted Therapy (EAT) has been used in many other case scenarios and has produced dramatic results.

The solution oriented sessions can be "on the ground" with no riding required. Various tasks and problem solving activities will be set which are designed to reveal important development of such skills such as communication, assertiveness, creative thinking, leadership and team building. This then allows the building of self esteem and confidence.
Clients with special needs can benefit, including long term mental and physical disabilities and acquired brain injury. Clients with abuse issues and eating disorders can also gain huge amounts of "self empowerment". In such cases Katherine likes to work with the clients therapist to achieve the maximum benefits.
